Ancient Greeks
At school we are studying the ancient greeks. I really like all of the different gods and godesses. My favourite godess is Artemis, the godess of the moon, also known as the huntress. The picture on the right is her, although ofcourse no one knew what she looked like.
So far we have not really done anything about the gods or godesses, just theatres and temples. Did you know that each temple in one city was dedicated to a different god or godess? People used to make sacrifices to the gods, like animals. There could be up to 500 animals for sacrifice at one time!!!!
It seems really wierd, but I just suppose that was the way they lived in those days.

I really like your favourite goddess, Jenny. When I was your age, my favourite was Athena. But I love most of the greek gods and goddesses, they had such interesting lives compared with going to work or school every day!
Eros, the God of Love is my favourite but I love the name Persephone.
My own favorite has always been Dionysus. And I think I've come to resemble him a bit.
I'm with Frank. I like Dionysos, who has--apart from other charms--always reminded me of Q on Star Trek: The Next Generation.
Thanks for the comments!! I am sorry I forgot to put Dionyas on the polls!!!!
If you were poor, and most people were, then the meat from the sacrifices would often be the only meat you would eat. The bones and fat would be offered to the gods and the edible stuff given to the people at the temple.
I'm tempted by Aphrodite, so I've voted for her. Demeter is another underrated Goddess, but she was the major deity of many cities.
too much information!!!! I am only 10 years old!!!!!!!!!!!
we do all sorts of boring stuff too, but we do some fun stuff. What is seatwork???
